aachaarya devobhava...
On the occassion of Teacher's day(which just went by), this blog is dedicated all the Teachers, who are shaping the future of lakhs of students.
This incident happened a couple of years ago, while I used to travel in BMTC bus to my workplace... One day, I happened to sit next to a lecturer from a Diploma College in Davangere. This person was talking to someone next to him and I happened to overhear their conversation. (You can't help overhearing conversations in public buses :-) ). They were talking about the general stuff like where are you from? what are you doing? where do u live? whom do you live with? etc etc.
During the course of their conversation, the other person, told this lecturer that he lives alone in Bangalore(since he has job in Bangalore) and he is from some other city. He also mentioned that this was first time he is staying away from his home and parents/family. At this point the lecturer said the following, which made so much sense and relevant :-) He said that,"all of us should live away from our family for sometime, in life. When we live alone, we grow more stronger emotionally, mentally. This is because, we will face many situations, wherein we are needed to take decisions on our own. We need to go through our sorrows and pain alone. We learn many things by making mistakes and since the impact of our mistakes are more pronounced during this time, we learn a lesson for the life time. In this way we become more mature, when we live away from our near and dear ones.". He mentioned that he used to tell his students the same thing.
